Michael Goff

Michael was born in 1957 in Kashmir India, moving to Australia at the age of ten.

After giving up retail management career of sixteen years, in 1989, he made the decision to become a professional artist, and concentrate on his  artistic development.

Originally taught tonal oils by Carl Anderson (a former student of John Balmain), at the age of 14. He is self-taught in watercolours, acrylics pastels and inks.

He is mainly a landscape artist preferring to paint on location, but when this isn’t possible he uses his own sketches and photographs to draw on for inspiration. He paints almost every day always exploring new ways to become more proficient in what he paints and how he paints it.

He has been member of the Sherbrooke Art Society since 1988,and the Australian Guild .of Realist Artists, since 1992.

He teaches art classes at Sherbrooke, Malvern and Ringwood Art Societies and also at his home studio. He is also a sought after demonstrator for Art Societies in various mediums.

He has been a featured artist of several Rotary art shows, and part of numerous successful solo and group exhibitions. He has many works in private and corporate collections in Australia, U.S.A., Europe, Scotland, England, China, Japan and Indonesia.

He is also a sought after judge for Art Shows.


Has numerous commendations and awards at various Rotary and Society Art Shows.
